The Gift and Text Photos

One thing I really enjoy is when I receive little photos from Maria via text. Here's an example...

Isn't that precious?

Yesterday I received some fun photo texts from her.
First, let me give some pre-explanation...

Last Sunday I overheard Maria saying that if anyone could find Top Ramen Oriental Flavor (vegan) in our town to let her know. I'm not much of a shopper, at least not in person, but I know how to search online. Within minutes after Maria & Eric and girls left our home, I found the Top Ramen Oriental Flavor in a 24 pack on Amazon. With just a couple of clicks, it was on its way to them. I didn't tell them anything about it.

Yesterday, I received this photo from Maria...

Don't be scared.
In case you can't tell, that is her freaking out over the gift.
That was a fun text to receive!

Then, I was rewarded with this sweet photo of Elise.

Soon, this beautiful little face showed up on my phone.

And last, I received this photo.
Those are packages of Top Ramen and the photo
was originally sent to Eric, taunting him at work to
hurry him home for a Top Ramen treat.

I'm no always good at finding gifts for people
but apparently I nailed it this time!

Lunch and a Photo Shoot

Yesterday I invited Maria and her girls over for lunch and a photo shoot. I had a few new items for Wyoming Rose Boutique and I'd imagined Maria modeling outside for me while I shot glorious photographs.

Well, mother nature had another plan. We had horrible winds so shooting outside became a bad idea. Well, no problem. We managed. Maria was a great sport, very patient with me and my camera. I shot a great deal of photographs with a big smear on my lens so many of my photos had to be thrown out. I was able to save some, though.

Isn't she beautiful? Thanks. I grew her myself.

In between taking photos of Maria, while she was changing, I entertained myself taking photos of the little girls as well. Of course, I will share them with you...

We set Cordy up to watch Ruby Gloom on Netflix.

She may have been a bit tired.

Elise wanted to show me her sitting up skills...

 ...and play with her toys.

And, as you can see, Eric provided his second daughter with lovely lashes as well.
Thanks, Eric.

Elise!

Elise is plumping up and changing daily.  She's becoming more and more interactive!

She's too cute!

She gets my jokes!

She listens intently.

She has great hair!

And she puts up with Grandma Sue taking a LOT of photos!

Funny Face, I Love You

I have taken about a zillion photos over the first
3 weeks of Elise's life
.
Not all of  them were flattering.

I love that little funny face!

Linked

Do you ever feel like you have an especially strong link with someone?  I am talking about things like frequently saying the same thing at the same time, wearing the same color more days than not or even buying matching clothes when shopping separately.

Maybe you feel you have an even stronger, more unexplainable link.  You've all heard about identical twins sharing things like that, haven't you?  I once had a friendship with an identical twin.  He told me about a lot of times like that.  One example I remember was when he got a sharp pain in his leg or foot, I don't remember which.  He said he had to call his brother, who was then overseas.  Sure enough, his brother had broken his leg (or foot)!

I remember a similiar experience I had in the early 1980's.  We were living in the Seattle area while Mike was going to college.  We had very little money and I rarely made a long distance phone call.  That was, of course, before cell phones.  Long distance calls were a costly luxury!  One day, while at work, I kept having this pesky feeling that I needed to call my youngest sister.  That feeling grew to a near panic level and I finally got out a credit card and figured out how to charge a phone call.  I had never done that before but I couldn't even wait until I got home.  When I called, my Mom told me that my little sister had just had emergency surgery to remove her apendix!  That was weird.

One time I was browsing on Etsy and found a necklace I really loved.  There are literally thousands of necklaces on Etsy but it turns out that Maria had chosen that same necklace and had purchased it.  I recognized it when she came to visit (that was before they moved here).  As it turned out, she purchased one for me as well.

This last week-end something kind of funny happened.  Remember that we went to our friend's farm for a hayride?  At one point during the afternoon Maria was roaming around taking photos while I was off having fun with Cordelia.  I was unaware of all the things Maria found to photograph.  Later, after Maria and Cordelia went home, I wandered around the farm taking photos of things that caught my eye.  We did not discuss all these photos but check out some of her's here.  I laughed when I saw the third one.  I'd found those same pipes on the edge of the property and also photographed them!  At the time I remember thinking pipes were a strange thing to photograph but I just thought they looked cool.  Here's the view I captured...

I am sure you all have similiar stories.  I'd like to hear them!

Update:   Right after I finished this post and published it I clicked over to Maria's blog to see if she'd posted yet today.  I laughed!  It is a funny post with several quaint things that are funny but the part that caught me off guard was that in her post she'd made a reference and a link back to my blog.  Funny that she did that the same day that I made a reference and a link back to her blog!  Hmmmm....  Things to ponder.

Thank-you for stopping by. Feel free to use my photos but please link them back to my blog. I am honored if you wish to share content of any of my posts on Facebook, Twitter, etc. as long as it is linked back to my blog.

How Could This BEE Happening?

I was walking Bode, innocently sauntering along the sidewalk, when I was attacked!
No, it wasn't thugs.
It wasn't even a lone bad guy.
I'm not sure what it was but I know it was

BIG

and it got stuck between my glasses and my eye.

It STUNG me before I could get my glasses off!
Thankfully, it got me just below my eyebrow, not right in my eye.

It hurt a LOT!

I suppose it was a bee.  Maybe it was a wasp or even a bat (I'm telling you, it felt really, really big) but for the purpose of this post, I am assuming it was a bee.

I instantly wished I had Benadryl on me.
I realized I had my cell phone in my pocket....good.
But, if I went into anaphylactic shock, would I be able to dial 911?

I started walking really fast to be sure I got home before the drama began.
Wait, wouldn't walking fast just make my blood pump faster, causing the vile poison to stream through my body even more quickly?

Ok, walk kind of fast but not too fast.

Be calm.

Wait...

Oh, a sudden realization...

I'm not allergic to bee stings, Mike is!

Whew!

And here is how a bad thing became a good thing...

Recently I took some photos of bumble bees.
None of the bees posing for my photo shoot seemed annoyed by me and never once threatened to be mean to me.

I wanted to use the photos on my blog, but how could I casually insert of photo of a bee into my conversation?

Well, Walaa!
