Still In Isolation

Thank you for all the get well wishes! It was especially nice to read so many kind comments.

Yes, I am still sick. I am still avoiding my husband. Last night we texted each other across the hall a lot. We talked on the phone a bit but it made me feel like I had to cough so that didn't last too long. The good news is, so far he has not shown signs of illness.

Anyway, the glamour of being sick just isn't there anymore. I'm not finding the whole yucky tissue/coughing until my sides hurt/fever/short of breath/pounding sinus headache thing to be that much fun anymore. I'm funny that way.

It sure seems like a lot of people have been sick and it seems to hang around longer than usual. Have any of you been sick recently?

Praying that you feel better soon and that your husband does not get it...

Thanks for keeping it away from us. I know it's hard.

I read an article recently that discussed how effective the flu vaccine, particularly this year's, is. I was surprise to learn how many people still catch the flu, even after having the vaccine. And I was especially unhappy to learn that the older one gets, the less protection there is. Still worth getting the shot, but don't have too high expectations. So I will still get it every year, but be cautious also.

Anyway, I hope you get on the recovery path very soon. How wretched for you to have to be isolated from all your dear ones, your church, and your profession!

For healing you need to snuggle up with your husband! It will strengthen the immune system of both of you.

Affectionknit, thanks! You, of all people, know what I mean about keeping pastor/husbands well for Holy Week, huh?!

Allen, you are welcome. You are another person who doesn't need me to be sharing, aren't you? I'm glad I skipped the hug last Saturday morning as I started feeling a lot worse not long after I saw you.

Michelle, thanks. I did get the flu shot this year. This feels different than times when I've had the flu. It feels more like the summer I had bacterial pneumonia. At any rate, I think I'm on the recovery side of it all now.

We have managed to make the isolation fun anyway. I enjoyed having funny texts with Mike, talking to him out the window, etc. It's been entertaining...bit I'm ready to get back to my real life.
