When Peace, like a River

When Peace, like a River,
attendeth my way;
When sorrows, like sea billows, roll;
Whatever my lot,
thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well
with my soul.

Text: Horatio G. Spafford, 1828-1888
Tune: Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876

I love that hymn. The story behind it is so tragic, yet it led to such a beautiful song that describes powerful faith.

AKM, I didn't know the story behind the hymn so I just went onto Wikipedia (search It Is Well With My Soul) and now I am educated. He really did experience awful tragedies! It makes the song even more meaningful to me.
