M. Montgomery. You feel like you get to know her through her books (I wrote my master's thesis on her Emily trilogy), but sadly, from looking at her diaries, she never had her happy ending.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05362805741621968405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223722165290157517.post-1155764295652345182011-05-16T21:41:35.589-06:002011-05-16T21:41:35.589-06:00Thanks, Aimee. Shame on me. My hubby know about him and he thinks some of his songs are pretty cool. Thank you for stopping by and for leaving a sweet comment. Have a great week! By the way I saw your new crocheted products @Wyoming Rose. I love the yellow swirly scarf. So cute and stylish!aimeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00257836584526109507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223722165290157517.post-71968703248659022142011-05-16T16:27:26.416-06:002011-05-16T16:27:26.416-06:00Oh, my how this brings back memories!! A few that come to mind, are of course, his more popular, "Take me Home, Country Roads,", "Thank God I'm a County Boy," etc. I don't know about his theology, and as far as his past, don't we all have something in our past we would just as soon others not know about? I think it speaks highly of anyone that can overcome their past, and just as highly of anyone that can look "past" another's past -- think of your post a few days ago . . . WWJD? Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Sue!! Will have to hit up Pastor to sing me a few songs next time we're up! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04399886546830679446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223722165290157517.post-79377154217065272232011-05-16T15:38:46.342-06:002011-05-16T15:38:46.342-06:00I LOVE John Denver! I've always said that I want "Annie's Song" played at my wedding. Tons of 70s brides played it, and I really think it needs a resurgence at modern weddings. :-) I love so many others, too..."Looking For Space," "Poems, Prayers, and Promises," "Wild Montana Skies"...and let's not forget his work with the Muppets! If he ever came to town while I was living there I didn't know about it. I never met him, but I know what the theology of his family was. I'm sure that he heard proper doctrine a time or two. I hope he accepted it.Lisa https://www.blogger.com/profile/09324961653370110887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4223722165290157517.post-72260010682462573782011-05-16T10:58:50.810-06:002011-05-16T10:58:50.810-06:00My parents were big John Denver fans too! He seemed so 70s, right along with all of the other back to nature stuff that I was so fortunate to have grown up with. I actually did not realize what a humanist he was. Makes him even cooler!Theresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03570796770714543897noreply@blogger.com
